Return on Equity (ROE)
A profitability ratio measuring how effectively a company generates profit from shareholder equity. Calculated as Net Income divided by Shareholder Equity. Higher ROE indicates more efficient use of equity capital. Useful for comparing companies within the same industry, though very high ROE can sometimes indicate excessive leverage.
