Raw Quality Score

The calculated quality value (0-to-100) for a company before percentile ranking. This score is the sum of four equally-weighted components: Financial Strength contribution, EPS Stability contribution, Relative Sales Growth score, and Relative Profitability score. Companies with less than 10 years of history receive a Quality Penalty that reduces this score.

The Raw Quality Score is the calculated quality value (0-to-100) for a company before it is ranked against other companies to produce the Quality percentile.

The score is built from four equally-weighted components, each contributing up to 25 points: *Financial Strength* (based on grades from Morningstar, S&P, Value Line, and other rating agencies), *EPS Stability* (based on the consistency of earnings growth over time), *Relative Sales Growth* (compares the company's projected sales growth to its industry average), and *Relative Profitability* (compares the company's net margin or ROE to its industry average).

Companies with less than 10 years of operating history receive a *Quality Penalty* calculated as (10 - years) × 5 points. This reflects the higher uncertainty in evaluating younger companies with limited track records.

The final Raw Quality Score = Financial Strength + EPS Stability + Relative Growth + Relative Profitability - Quality Penalty. This raw score is then ranked against all other companies to produce the Quality percentile shown throughout Manifest Investing.
