The July 2022 Investing Roundtable celebrated the 12th anniversary of this educational investment club demonstration, showcasing how a group of informed amateurs can build and manage a diversified portfolio. Speaker A, Mark Robertson, and Cy Lynch reviewed the portfolio's impressive performance: over 12 years and nearly 700 investment decisions, the portfolio achieved a 16% annualized return compared to the Wilshire 5000's 10.3%, resulting in a 5.7% relative return advantage—significantly exceeding their 5% performance target. More than half of all stock picks outperformed the market, demonstrating the effectiveness of the Manifest Method's focus on quality companies at reasonable prices and long-term buy-and-hold investing.

The presentation highlighted both successes and failures to provide educational value. Top performers included Universal Display, Biospecifics, Amgen, and Greenbriar, while cautionary tales included GE, Body Central, and A2 Milk. The discussion emphasized the power of patience and long-term holding, with standout examples like Microsoft (generating 10-bagger returns across multiple purchases since 2011) and Costco ($1,000 becoming $11,000). Cognizant Technology (selected 15 times) and EPAM were recognized as repeat selections with strong returns. The roundtable also featured three stock presentations by club members on First Foundation, MKSI, and Portillos, followed by audience polling and questions.
